Cobi Marcus

Senior Associate

Mr. Marcus joined Gornitzky & Co. as an associate in 2014.


Prior to joining the firm, Cobi served for about 10 years in the IDF's Military Advocate General's Corps. During this time, Cobi held several key roles, among them senior legal advisor in the International Law Department, senior prosecutor in the Military Prosecution, in which he conducted a number of high-profile cases, and legal assistant to the Deputy Military Advocate General.


Cobi possesses vast experience in a wide range of practices, including environmental protection issues, criminal law, military justice and litigation in various fields.


In the field of environmental protection, Cobi represents leading companies in the Israeli economy, in three echelons - compliance, regulation and litigation – as they contend on a day to day basis with proceedings taken against them by the Ministry of Environmental Protection. These proceedings include class actions and criminal proceedings against companies and their officers. In addition, Cobi has led due diligence processes in the area of environmental protection in a number of significant transactions in the Israeli market, in addition to conducting legal risk surveys for various clients.

In light of Cobi's ample experience in criminal law, he handles different criminal cases and represents both suspects and defendants in military and civil proceedings, from beginning to end. Cobi has also been invited several times to serve as a commentator on criminal issues, on Reshet Bet radio station.


In terms of litigation, Cobi represents the firm's leading clients, in Israel and abroad, in the fields of commercial law and administrative law.


Apart from his litigation practice, Cobi provides extensive legal counsel to his clients in their routine activities, in the field of Israeli law and public international law.
