Shirin Gabbay-Metzger is a partner at Gornitzky & Co.
Shirin began her legal career at Gornitzky & Co. as a legal intern and was an associate with the firm since 2012.
Shirin is a member of the firm’s litigation team. She specializes in diversified and complex civil and commercial litigation cases, both of national and international nature, in a wide range of fields, including, inter alia, complex capital market matters, shareholder disputes, bankruptcy and liquidation, derivative actions, class actions and commercial litigation in various complicated matters.
A major part of Shirin’s practice is in the field of tax litigation, in representing the firm’s clients in wide range of tax related litigation vis-à-vis the Israeli tax authorities and before the different Israeli instances. Shirin recently represented some leading international companies in connection with “business model change” assessments following purchases of hi-tech and bio-med companies and issues regarding transfer pricing allegations and the profit split method.
During her legal studies, Shirin served as a member of the Criminal Justice Clinic, which provides pro bono legal representation for indigent defendants, and was a member of Tel Aviv University’s Law Review, “Iyunei Mishpat.” Shirin also served as a student representative of the Tel Aviv University Student Union and headed the law school’s orientation program for new students, as well as the “Mevoot Mishpat” (“Pre-law”) program, through which students teach basic law on a volunteer basis to elementary and high school students.
