CANNABIS

LOOKING AT TOMORROW, TODAY

Cannabis is one of the fastest-growing industries worldwide. As the number of foreign countries legalizing, decriminalizing or medicalizing cannabis increases, the Israeli legal Cannabis market continues to evolve, and businesses and individuals face an array of legal issues, including regulatory compliance, branding and IP, taxation, financing and corporate transactions.

Pursuant to the current Israeli laws and regulations relating to cannabis licensing, all segments of the value chain, including the propagation, growing, manufacturing, distribution and supply of cannabis products, are subject to the standards of the Israeli Medical Cannabis Agency (IMCA). Over the past few years new cannabis related bills have emerged, aiming to reshape the Israeli cannabis market, introduce non-medical and recreational uses and establish new regulation regimes. We provide our clients with the confidence they need and help them navigate through these volatile times.

Our cannabis practice provides our clients with legal advice relating to all segments of the cannabis value chain, and the many different commercial, financial and regulatory aspects. We represent some of Israel’s largest cannabis growers and manufacturers, global pharmaceutical and tobacco companies as well as pharmacies, VC’s, research institutions and financing establishments. We have gained extensive and invaluable experience in cannabis related licensing, regulatory compliance, research initiatives and collaborations, financing, M&A, representation of underwriters in contemplated initial public offerings (IPO’s) and IP and breeders’ rights matters. We have good working relationships with the relevant regulators and enforcement agencies and are experienced in facilitating a productive dialogue with such government officials.

Our cannabis team is enhanced by our expertise in additional practice areas, and works seamlessly together with attorneys from our life science, real estate, IP, tax, antitrust, corporate, securities, energy, litigation and other practice areas to provide clients with the necessary multidisciplinary expertise needed to provide holistic solutions for our clients’ needs.
