ABOUT

Barak Abarbanel is an associate at Gornitzky GNY.

Barak completed his internship and worked as an attorney at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2022 to 2026. In this capacity, he was involved in various proceedings before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) as part of the team representing the State of Israel.

Barak joined Gornitzky in March 2026 and has since been involved in a range of matters, with a particular focus on international arbitration and dispute resolution.

Lecturer and Coach, the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition – the world’s largest moot court competition – Faculty of Law, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, 2024-Present Barak participated in the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition and later served as the administrator of its national rounds. In addition, he volunteered with the practical clinic of the Tel Aviv District Attorney’s Office (Civil Division), as well as with Tel Aviv University’s Knesset Clinic, in the course of which he worked for approximately one year in the office of Member of Knesset and Chair of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Ram Ben-Barak, assisting the parliamentary adviser. Barak also served on the editorial team of the legal journal Theoretical Inquiries in Law, as well as a research assistant for two faculty lecturers during his studies.
