Our firm represented former officers of Bezeq Israeli Communications Company Ltd. in a proceeding for approval of a derivative action filed against them by a shareholder of the Company. The approval application was filed following a monetary sanction imposed on Bezeq by the Ministry of Communications, regarding the Company’s implementation of the “wholesale market” internet sector reform.
Following a lengthy mediation process, which also included approval proceedings for a derivative action filed following a monetary sanction imposed on Bezeq by the Israel Competition Authority for abuse of its position as a monopoly, the parties reached a settlement agreement. The Haifa District Court (the Honorable Judge Ron Sokol) granted full approval of the agreement, finding that it was proper, fair, and reasonable, and that it served the best interests of the Company.
